 PUBLIC HEARING:

   ZBA2018-5 Application for a 19’ side yard variance where 25’ is required for an AG pool  at 50 Wilderness Way (Map 42 Lot 8-6 Zone R80) Owner/Applicant Mark & Jessica Brand (Received June 14, 2018 Public Hearing August 9, 2018 Decision within 65 days after close of P. H.)

 Public Hearing was called to order at 7:30 by R. Maloney.

Mark & Jessica Brand where present to speak about the application. They stated that they would like to put in an above ground pool.

The applicants showed the Board Members a map of the property where they had highlighted the location of the leach fields, the slope of the land and location of the ledge on the property.

The hardship for the variance is the topography of the land, location of the septic system and the well.

Eastern Highland Health District has approved the applicant for code compliance.

A letter from an abutting property owner in support of the application was added to the application.

 A site walk was done by Board Members on June 27, 2018.

 

R. Maloney motion to close the Public Hearing.

Regular Meeting:

R. Maloney motion to approve the variance from section 8 to locate an AG pool in the side yard setback.

Per the Map titled Pool Permit Plan Wilderness View Subdivision – Lot # 6  50 Wilderness Way Willington, Connecticut Date 7-12-18 scale 1”= 20” W. Bland seconded the motion.

All Members voted in favor.

M. Masinda motion to approve the minutes of April 12, 2018. J. Prusak seconded the motion. All Members voted in favor.

R. Maloney spoke to the Board Members about the Emergency Selectman Meeting that he had attended.

M. Masinda motion to adjourn. W. Bland seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Meeting was adjourned.
