Willington – The Perfect Place for Your Business

Willington is a 33 square mile, rural town in northeastern Connecticut with a population of about 6,500 people. It offers classic New England architecture, farms, rivers, rolling hills and a variety of recreational opportunities. Willington boasts a highly skilled workforce, great schools, affordable housing, all located within easy and convenient commuting distance to Hartford.

The Willington Economic Development Commission (EDC) along with town leaders provide resources and support for new and existing businesses while targeting key town locations principally on or near the Interstate 84 corridor for commercial and industrial expansion. I-84 offers ready connections to Hartford, New York, Springfield, Worcester, Providence, and Boston. Willington’s strategically located development corridor is already home to a large FedEx distribution Center, a TA Travel Center of America and a north to south rail freight line.

The EDC is affiliated with Northeast Alliance, a regional business assistance group that offers financing resources, management consulting and coordination of state, municipal, and private enterprise. Additionally, the nearby University of Connecticut in Storrs provides industrial research centers and cooperative private ventures. UCONN also furnishes a source for interns and employees, a technology incubation program and customers for Willington businesses.

Willington is truly the perfect place to raise a family and grow your business. The EDC stands ready to help. Please contact us at [email protected]
