The Willington Food Pantry
The Willington Food Pantry is overseen by the Human Services department and staffed by volunteers.
We operate year round and serve an average of 25-30 households per month! We are open Monday evenings from 4-6pm and Thursday from 10am-12:00 noon. We serve exclusively Willington residents.
We have several events per year, including the large Boy Scout food drive in November and our holiday basket programs in November and December. We also have a number of other food drives, many of them themed, in order to attract attention and generate donations.
In 2015, we started remaining open during the summer months. In 2016, we started offering the Friday hours as well. In 2018, we acquired a freezer and are now able to distribute a wider variety of foods, including meats, whereas before we just offered canned and dry goods.
We are supported ENTIRELY by donations from residents and community groups in the area.
