Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
November 25, 2008
7:00 PM
Attending Members: Greg Suchy, Joseph Colangelo, Mike Pinatti, Al Ference, Rich Mindek and William Bilyak were in attendance. Teri Gareau was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. Joe Colangelo made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Rich Mindek. All members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
- We have received interest from six individuals regarding the one open WRC position vacated by Greg Blessing. WRC requested more background information on the individuals. Teri Gareau will send a request to each of the interested parties.
DIRECTORS REPORT:
- Teri Gareau provided a directors report, highlights were as follows:
- Karate session # 3 starts in December
- Youth basketball is underway. No schedules for games so far. Practices have been scheduled through the end of December
- High School Basketball started 12/16. 8 players so far.
- Carol sing scheduled for 12/14.
- UCONN family skate on 12/20
- Fall maintenance is complete on all fields.
- Basketball scoreboard for Hall is in and will be installed by Joe Colangelo, Mike Pinatti and crew this weekend. WRC appreciates them volunteering their time.
- Teri updated WRC on proposal to restructure the budget information. WRC made some comments. Teri will draft out budget for next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
- RRAC-STEAP Grant. Teri Gareau reported that she has started putting together information to apply for the grant. More information will be gathered and the draft will be sent out the WRC members.
- Basketball 08-09
- Referees will be needed for some of the home games. Teri provided a list of interested students. Some of the WRC also volunteered when needed.
- Just waiting for basketball schedules from Northeast conference. Games start weekend of December 6th.
C. RRAC – Teri is gathering proposals for the next phase. WRC will need to submit for next CIP request in early 2009. Joe and Mike will start some work at RRAC in preparation for current CIP work.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Teri presented MLS soccer clinics for April and July 2009.
- Meeting schedule approved for 2009. Greg motioned, Rich seconded.
- 2009 CIP requests will be determined at the next meeting. Teri will also submit draft budget at next meeting.
- Executive session lasted 10 minutes.
ADJOURNMENT:
Joseph Colangelo motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Al Ference. The meeting adjourned at 8:50PM. The next meeting is scheduled for December 23rd, 2008 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
