MISSION OF THE WILLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION

  • Participate in determining the utilization of the Town’s land areas through research, inventorying natural resources and making recommendations to Town officials and regulatory agencies for the wise use of these resources
  • Manage the Fenton-Ruby Park & Wildlife Preserve and Drobney Sanctuary and the Talmadge Tract and monitor committed open spaces
  • Provide opportunities for citizens to appreciate, to enjoy and to learn from our natural environment
  • Cooperate with regional groups in conservation planning and grant acquisition
  • Actively seek opportunities for the preservation of additional open space

The Willington Conservation Commission was established by Town ordinance in October 1967 as authorized by the Connecticut General Statutes, Section 7-131a
