Board of finance
Recommend that Board of Selectmen call a Town Meeting for authorization to expend $8,500.00 from Capital Projects-LOCIP Willington Fire Department #1 Oil Tank Removal, to be reimbursed by LOCIP, to remove and replace heating oil tank at the Willington Fire Department #1 Station.
Approved the following Transfers:
$5,000 from the Public Works Department to Consulting Engineers line item
$4,500 from Contingency to Willington Youth & Family Social Services
$1,500 from Contingency to Auditors line item
$400 from Contingency to Unemployment line item
$1,200 from Contingency to Social Security line item
Did not approve a request for transfer of $13,490.78 from Capital projects-Roof Replacement and $5,509.22 from Capital Projects-Revaluation to a new Capital Project-Land Use Permit Automation for the purchase of a software modular to monitor, track and document the town permitting system.
Approved the Tax Collector Suspense List which transfers 35 accounts from “active” to “inactive” status, totaling $13,573.60
Set the mil rate for fiscal year 2001-2002 to be 26.50. Real estate and personal property tax in excess of $100.00 will be payable in two installments due on July 1, 2001 and January 1, 2002. Real estate and personal property taxes less than $100.00 will be payable in one installment due on July 1, 2001. Motor vehicle taxes will be payable in one installment due July 1, 2001. Motor vehicle supplement taxes will be payable in one installment due January 1, 2002.
Board of SELECTMEN
Accepted proposal from Fuss & O’Neil to monitor groundwater at the Transfer Station for $6,000 for Fiscal Year 2001-2002.
Approved tax refunds of $359.03, $109.79 and $11.85 as well as a tax abatement of $267.28
Approved a request of subordination of a rehab lien to the Savings Bank of Manchester for $55,000 in order to refinance at a lower interest rate.
Approved a Town Meeting on May 30, 2001 for authorization to expend $8,500.00 from Capital Projects-LOCIP Willington Fire Department #1 Oil Tank Removal, to be reimbursed by LOCIP, to remove and replace heating oil tank at the Willington Fire Department #1 Station.
Board of EDUCATION
At their May 8th meeting they approved a reduction of $27,700 in the 2001-2002 budget to meet with the approval of the Board of Finance.
Approved school lunch fees for Fiscal Year 2001-2002 as $1.60 at Center School, $1.65 for regular lunch and $2.45 for a super lunch at Hall School.
Approved substitute pay scale for Fiscal Year 2001-2002 as $65 per day for teachers, $55 per day for paraprofessionals and $75 per day for nurses.
The Annual Town Meeting adjourned to referendum on May 8th and the townspeople voted to approve the following Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budget:
* $12,761,690 for the operation and maintenance of the Regional School District #19 Public School System of which the Town of Willington’s share will be $2,940,612.
* $3,121,637 for the Town of Willington General Government Budget
* $5,743,400 for the Town of Willington Education Budget
At the May 30th Town Meeting, the townspeople authorized the expenditure of $8,500.00 from Capital Projects-LOCIP Willington Fire Department #1 Oil Tank Removal, to be reimbursed by LOCIP, to remove and replace heating oil tank at the Willington Fire Department #1 Station.
